A l'atelier, on ne fait pas que travailler. On boit aussi du très bon thé qui vient d'une boutique à côté. 
Je n'ai pas résisté à apporter quelques douceurs pour la pause d'aujourd'hui.  
Merci au Lapin Californien grâce auquel je peux me la péter graaaaaave avec mon furoshiki!

Halfway of the session, we take some terrifically good tea coming from a delicious shop next door. I thought it could be a good idea to bring pear-raisin-chocolate chips mini cakes to share during tea time. 
Thanks to Delphine I could also show off with my furoshiki.

Voilà la pièce que j'ai modelée hier et retrouvée ce matin à l'atelier. Elle est en porcelaine et je l'ai façonnée à partir de colombins de terre superposés. Aujourd'hui, je l'ai encore affinée et lissée avant de la poser sur une étagère pour séchage.
Si tout se passe bien jusqu'au bout, je devrais pouvoir m'en servir tous les jours pour mon déjeuner.

This is my first piece, I made it yesterday at the workshop. I shaped it using coil construction method and it's made of china. Today I worked the whole thing thiner and smoother. Now it's drying on the shelf.
If everything goes well 'til the end, I will use that plate everyday for my lunch. 

Retour A La Terre

Cette semaine, toutes mes matinées sont consacrées au travail de la céramique dans un atelier tout près de chez moi. J'ai suivi ma première séance tout à l'heure et c'était déjà très chouette. J'en ai même oublié de sortir l'appareil photo. Je ferai mieux demain, avant et après avoir eu les mains pleines de terre. 
La céramiste qui anime l'atelier m'avait demandé de réfléchir à la pièce que j'aimerai créer durant le stage. En quête d'inspiration, j'ai replongé dans mes archives. J'y ai retrouvé le merveilleux travail de Simone Perrotte.

Every morning of this week, I'm following a ceramics/pottery workshop. It was so great I completely forgot to take pictures. I'll try to think about tomorrow  before and after having my hands full of clay.
The teacher asked me to think about the piece I would like to create. So I searched in my files to inspire myself and found Simone Perrotte's fantastic art. Look at the video. It's in French without subtitles but it gives a good overlook of her work.
